All forms of lead are toxic

Our Mission

Our coalition believes it will require sustained pressure at the community level to demand that this toxin be removed from our environment. To date, the city has only offered half measures and deflections on this public health issue. We are asking concerned citizens to call or email their Alderperson and Mayor to demand a comprehensive plan to remove the pipes. Join us in building community power around this environmental and racial justice issue. This is an issue that impacts all of us. We need everyone to help in eradicating toxic lead from our lives.

“We have actually seen the number of children in our community who are hospitalized because of pediatric lead poisoning, hospitalized in need to chelation therapy, those children we have levels of 45 or higher in their bloodstream, rise every two-year period since 2013...yes I said the children in our community with the most extreme lead poisoning has risen since 2013.”
